We can’t hardly contain the excitement of the return of Daft Punk. The Electro GAWDS have blessed us for this year. Reports from France’s second largest newspaper, Le Parisien, confirm that Daft Punk will be signing to SONY for their new album, and leaving EMI. Checkout more information below:

According to second largest regional newspaper in France, Le Parisien, Daft Punkhave found a new home on Sony subsidiary, Columbia, leaving EMI for their upcoming fourth studio album. Following in the footsteps of Depeche Mode who also left EMI for a US-based label, Daft Punk is currently in the process of finalizing its contract with Sony/Columbia, slating the upcoming album’s worldwide release for sometime this Spring. Aside from scoring Disney’s Tron, this marks their first official release since 2005′s Human After All but other than their collaboration with Nile Rodgers of Chic, little else is known about the album from the two enigmatic producers – Dancing Astronaut

The news was broken by one half of Daft Punk Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo when he openly told friends at Kavinsky’s new album launch last week. This will herald their first album on Sony after the previous three were signed to EMI. – Stony Roads
